Story
Origins and Founding (1984)

In 1984, the founder and chairman of Amara Raja, Dr Ramachandra N Galla, returned from the USA to usher development in his homeland at Chittoor District, Andhra Pradesh.

He believed in the underlying responsibility of entrepreneurs in empowering people and advancing social goals.

The first manufacturing facility and office were established in a remote village Karakambadi, 12 km from the holy town of Tirupati, under the name of Amara Raja Power Systems Ltd.

The company sold batteries for railways (1993), before going public in 1991 through an Initial Public Offering (IPO).

In 2000, Amaron Automotive Batteries is launched. (1)
